BEHIND THE SCENES

WHILE THE PLAY (A BRECHTAIN ADAPTATION OF DION BOUCICAULT'S 1859 "THE OCTOROON") TYPICALLY CALLS FOR A BLACK-BOX THEATRICAL SETTING, THIS PRODUCTION WAS SET IN THE PROSCECIUM-ENDOWED VICTORIA J. MASTROBUONO THEATER. UTILIZING THE THEATER'S ENTIRE SPACE, MELODRAMATIC DESIGN HISTORY WAS INCORPORATED IN THE FINAL PRODUCTION.
