Scenic design and model of Puccini's 1926 three-act opera, set in Ancient China.

Although unrealized, this opera enabled the incredible opportunity to research ancient Chinese architectural motifs. Hand-cutting the fretwork and mixing the appropriate color tones was essential in the final look. Model and drafting are in 1/2" scale.
